About The North Branch Trout Derby Assoctiation & Our Officers

The North Branch Trout Derby Association originated from activities conducted by several fisherman and outdoor enthusiasts back in the early 1980’s. Once a year the sportsman supervise fishing activities that included a trout derby during the month of May for kids 1 through 12 years old to enjoy fishing with their families. Since those early years the group has added a race way for raising trout and has also stocked open waterways for others to enjoy fishing and many other outdoor activities.

The North Branch Trout Derby Association was organized in 2014 with the understanding that our youth need
more opportunity to experience the outdoors and to broaden their knowledge and education through programs that promote interaction with nature. As part of our By-Laws the North Branch Trout Derby Association offers these activities and opportunities free of charge to all children in the community. We have also realized a need to expand the scope of our programs to include children older than 12 years old. Our teenage youth need more choices for recreation that offer good socialization and a wholesome learning environment to broaden their knowledge of our natural resources.

To expand our programs, the need for obtaining a 501(C)7 exemption is very important. To be able to raise money in the community the donors would like to deduct these donations on their tax returns. Many in the community have expressed a desire to contribute to the North Branch Trout Derby Association and give back tokens of their appreciation for all the children that the association has touched over the years. These contributions will enable us to grow and expand the organization and develop several new programs that offer even more opportunity for children and young adults.
